One of my friends in Canada is planning to get into 3D printing and is confused between the Ender 3 and the Bambu Lab A1. He’s a complete beginner and mainly wants something reliable with good print quality without too much tinkering.

From what I understand, the Ender 3 is more budget-friendly and widely used, but it may need upgrades and manual calibration. The Bambu Lab A1 looks more modern with features like auto calibration and faster printing, but it’s more expensive.

For someone just starting out, which one would you recommend today? Is it better to go with a cheaper, more hands-on printer like Ender 3 or invest in something like Bambu Lab A1 for a smoother experience?

If you’re a beginner, just go with Bambu Lab A1. It’s plug-and-play, auto-calibrates, prints fast, and just works. Creality Ender 3 is cheaper but you’ll spend a lot of time assembling, leveling, and fixing issues.

Only pick Ender 3 if you actually want to learn the technical side; otherwise A1 is way smoother for beginners.
