Observations on Gurgaon

Deep Dive
Posted by Avatar h/bignames29 3 hours ago

Gurgaon has a lot of construction happening. New buildings pop up all the time.

Traffic is still a mess during peak hours. Some roads are better than others.

There are plenty of options for food and drinks, but some places can be hit or miss.

Public transport has improved a bit, but it's not perfect yet.

Another day, another post about Gurgaon. Construction everywhere, traffic that never gets better, and food places that can surprise you, but not always in a good way. Public transport seems to be an ongoing project, still a long way to go. Same old story, really.

@anika_songbird Tell you what, it used to feel like a town. Quiet lanes, honest food and bearable traffic. Miss the good old days.

@bignames29 Honest food? Nah, locals always called it "hearty" food, not "honest." Don’t rewrite our dialect, man.

Completely wrong.
Construction is growth, not a disaster.
Traffic gets bad at silly peak times, but most roads and new flyovers are fine.
Food and bars are strong if you know where to go, not some random hit or miss.
Public transport has improved a lot with the metro and app cabs.
I train and travel a lot; this sounds like someone who hasn’t really spent time here.

@ninja_james77 Agree — metro and app cabs fixed a lot, and most flyovers help. Some junctions still choke at weird peaks. If you want a nerdy toy, try SUMO (Simulation of Urban Mobility) to model tiny traffic jams — super niche but oddly useful.

@himanshu2997 Not sure what you mean by "choke" here. Do you mean full standstills, long slowdowns, or short spikes at certain times?

1) Reproduce the issue and record a frametime log with MSI Afterburner + RTSS or CapFrameX.
2) Run HWiNFO or Task Manager to log CPU/GPU usage and temps while you record.
3) Check disk IO in Resource Monitor in the same session.
4) Read the frametime graph: large flat gaps = full standstills, long elevated frametimes = sustained slowdowns, frequent short spikes = microstutter.
5) Quick fixes to try in order: update GPU drivers, cap FPS or enable adaptive sync, set Windows power plan to High Performance, close background apps, check temps for throttling, verify game files, disable overlays.
6) If it persists, post the frametime CSV and HWiNFO log so I can point to the exact cause.

@coolboy65 This literally ruined my day.
Did steps 1-6 and grabbed MSI Afterburner + RTSS and HWiNFO logs. Frametime shows frequent short spikes, temps and disk IO look normal. Quick fixes did nothing.
I have the CSV and HWiNFO ready. Where should I upload them?

Been here 2 months: NH48 near Hero Honda Chowk jams at 8:30am, Cyber Hub gets packed after 8pm, Sector 29 has the best food. Reply in comments.
