How much should I expect after 2–3 years of experience in interior design?

I am currently working at an interior design firm and wanted to understand what kind of salary I should realistically expect at this stage. I have around 2.5 years of experience and have worked on residential projects, client coordination, site visits, and design execution as well.

I am not sure if my current pay is aligned with the market or if I should consider switching for better growth. If you have been in a similar position or have industry experience, it would really help to know what range I should expect and how salaries usually grow after 2–3 years.

Depends a lot on city and type of firm, but in India after 2–3 years you should typically be in the ₹25k–₹45k/month range. In metros like Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, good firms pay ₹35k–₹60k/month if you’re handling clients, site work, and execution independently.

I am currently in Noida but ready to move to other cities as well. Let me know if you have any leads for the same.

What’s your current salary range btw? Would help to know your role, city, and whether you’re in a small studio or bigger company.

With 2–3 years of experience, interior designers in India usually earn around ₹3.5–7 LPA depending on the firm and projects; if you’re below that or not seeing growth, switching can help.
