Can OpenClaw realistically run a cold outreach workflow without breaking halfway?

For our agency, we’re exploring if OpenClaw can actually handle a full cold outreach workflow end to end, mainly for backlink outreach. The idea is to have it find prospects, draft emails, send them, and also handle follow-ups automatically.

I’m not even sure how reliable it is when it comes to things like Gmail or other email tools, especially over multiple steps and days. Has anyone tried something like this in a real setup? What’s the best way to structure it so it doesn’t break halfway? Would love to know what’s actually working vs what looks good in theory.

Short answer, yes it can, but not out of the box and definitely not as one clean end to end flow. We tried something similar for backlink outreach and the biggest issue is reliability over time. Things like Gmail limits, session drops, small errors in one step breaking the whole chain, it all adds up when you are running it for days.

What worked better for us was breaking everything into smaller pieces. One flow for finding prospects, one for generating emails, one for sending, and a separate logic for follow ups.

Also don’t rely on direct Gmail automation, use SMTP or an email API.
