How are you using OpenClaw after Claude’s recent restrictions/ban? What setups are actually working now?

With Anthropic removing OpenClaw support from standard Claude subscriptions and pushing users toward separate API usage, a lot of existing workflows seem to have broken or become expensive overnight.

I’ve been exploring OpenClaw recently, and from what I understand, it’s not a model itself but more of an agent layer that connects to models like Claude, GPT, or even local LLMs to automate multi-step tasks.

Now that Claude access is restricted or pay-as-you-go, I’m trying to figure out what people are doing in practice. Are you still using OpenClaw with Claude via API keys or have you switched to other models (like GPT or local models)?

Also curious if people think OpenClaw is still worth it vs just using something like Claude Code or other agent frameworks.

Right now the only setup that’s consistently working is using OpenClaw with official paid Claude API access (Anthropic API key) instead of any free or shared endpoints, because those get blocked quickly.

Most people have shifted to plugging in their own billed API key and running everything through that, which keeps it stable and avoids the recent restrictions entirely.
