What tools/apps are essential for digital nomads today?

I am planning to try the digital nomad lifestyle and will be working while traveling. Many of my friends have already started doing this, so I am seriously considering it now.

Can you guys suggest what are some must have tools or apps for digital nomads today? I am looking for things that help with work, communication, travel planning, payments, and staying organized.

I will be planning my first trip soon to Thailand, so I want to be prepared and not struggle once I reach there.
