Luminai, a San Francisco-based AI startup, has secured $38 million in Series B funding, raising its total to $60 million since its inception in 2020. Led by Peak XV Partners, the funding round also included contributions from General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and Define Ventures.

Luminai aims to streamline hospital operations by automating fragmented administrative workflows through its AI platform. The system processes healthcare documents like faxes and PDFs, transforming them into structured data while distinguishing relevant clinical information.

It incorporates a knowledge graph that adapts to individual health systems' operations and uses workflow agents to classify and route documents effectively.

This innovative approach reduces the administrative burden on healthcare teams, which traditionally rely on numerous staff members for processing incoming faxes. Currently, Luminai is partnered with Cleveland Clinic to implement its technology.
